This is LoveMe.eu, a free community for lovers of love - and possibly the only dating-love blog hybrid there is.

What is LoveMe.eu?

LoveMe.eu is an experimental "dating-love blog-hybrid social site", for lack of a better word, offering a non-traditional approach to traditional dating in an environment drenched with discussions of love and romance.

Simply by browsing our site, you will see that we employed an oddball philosophy to the building of LoveMe.eu - an approach that is in many ways radically different from what what a "normal" dating site would use, and certainly different from any traditional blog site.

For instance, you don't need a membership to browse our content (read: user profiles, photos, videos, blogs). In fact, you don't even need to be registered. You can just click on a section of interest and go ahead and browse to your heart's content. If interesting users provide public contact information in their profile, you can even contact them directly, bypassing the site altogether.

We used this approach because we don't think there is anything awkward about being registered on a blog site with dating on the side. And it doesn't really make much sense to have your profile very private - if you're walled-in behind registration and membership processes like you invariably are on a typical dating site, how on earth are people ever going to find you? (Did you know there 2000+ dating sites in this world...that we know of?)

Our approach to exposure is that of a typical news site: keep it open, keep it public. Each profile, each photo and each video is technically handled like a news story on a news site. And this makes our site very, very search engine friendly. If you regularly blog a little and update your album photos from time to time, your profile, photos, blog etc. will eventually find their way into Google and other search engines. There, you will be discovered by people who had no idea LoveMe.eu even existed -  thus creating more variety of traffic to your profile than you would ever experience on a typical blog or dating site.

Contrary to many social sites, LoveMe.eu is very simple. It's bare-bones, almost. We have no bling. We have no forum, no "advice", no tests - we don't present you with stuff you don't need. But what we do offer you is useful and very simple for you to use.

And we have free video chat. Yes, free cam-to-cam video chat is offered with all accounts. However, later we may make it available only to people who are friends, to give users more control over who they are approached by. But we'll see and we'll listen to your feedback.

No fake profiles - No fake users

This is important: There are no fake profiles or fake users on LoveMe.eu. We are building this site from zero, from the ground up, welcoming one user at a time as they come across our promotion or become aware of us on social networks. In the first days the site seemed empty of people - because it was. Then the first user came, and then the second one came, etc.

We could have gone another route and for instance joined up with an established dating site or service. There we can get access to their database and pull hundreds or thousands of user profiles and display them as LoveMe.eu users. (Many dating sites do this, both new and established, with or without the user's knowledge and consent.)

We could also have had professional writers create new profiles, using royalty free stock photos as profile photos  - yes, there are writers who are actually employed by dating sites to create profiles on a regular basis. Some dating sites also employ hostesses to engage new users to make them feel like all sorts of things are happening.

LoveMe.eu chose not to do this. We chose to build the site from scratch because we like the truth and transparency.

LoveMe.eu is a free site

Our site is free. It's not "free to register" or "free to sign up" or some such: it's free. Completely, entirely, utterly free. 

Love stories

We already have lots of love stories and stories about love and more are being added every day. Why? There are three reasons. Firstly: we love love stories. We adore them! Traditional love stories. Philosophical love stories. Romance-style love stories. Sappy love stories. Cold love. True love. Untrue love. Truth. Fiction. Fantasy. (Vampire love? Werewolves? Oh la la...) Whatever it is, if it's about love - any kind of love - LoveMe.eu has just the spot for it. Where better to showcase love stories than on a site about love?

Secondly: most of us have a good story to tell. Sometimes it's about being odd, or different, or non-mainstream, and sometimes not. Sometimes it's about love, or the lack of love, or strange love, and sometimes not. Sometimes it's just speculation, some musings, some ponderings on what is and what might have been - other times it's factual, an actual timeline, events from day one retold.

Thirdly: a good and growing collection of love stories will pull in both search engines and love story readers. With time, this will increase traffic to our users' profiles and make it more likely that you might actually find your soulmate and/or audience.

To share your story with love story lovers across the globe, please begin by creating a fully rounded profile complete with crisp profile photos starring yourself. Then simply click on My blog to create your blog, and off you go, sharing your love (of) story...

Professional bloggers and writers

From time to time we will hire bloggers and writers through Elance.com and other freelance services to share their real love stories or personal views on love and life in general with the LoveMe.eu audience. A writer's profile is always clearly marked Writer. You can easily locate our bloggers and writers through the Browse Profiles menu, located at the top of the site.

Beware of spammers

If you get sitemail from a person who says that she liked your profile very much and who gives you an email address through which she asks you to contact her, please be very careful.

Typically, messages like this originate from dating site spammers and scammers who want to fleece you.

LoveMe.eu is a free site, anybody can register and anybody can contact anybody. While we have all manner of spam blocks in effect, some seedy individuals will invariably get through and start pestering people.

If you are approached by a suspicious person please visit their profile and click the “report” button to tell us about them.

About spam

It needs to be said that we have a policy of zero tolerance towards spam. Maintaining a public profile and personal blog can be a sensitive matter and we will absolutely not accept any such disrespect on our site. Spammers are shot (read: deleted, traced and blocked) on sight. Always. There is no second chance.
